So my car and my computer die on the same day. Not so good.
The heating coil in the car isn’t coming on when the car is started. (At least, it comes on, and then immediately turns itself off again – according to the blinkenlights anyway.) This means the fuel (diesel) isn’t warmed up enough to ignite. So the car doesn’t start. Not good.
The computer also failed to turn on. I swapped out the power supply for an old one, which got some response from the motherboard but was too weedy to actually drive the computer. So I went back to the shop I’d bought the motherboard from back in July. Oh dear, apparently it was just a month out of guarantee. Sorry, we can’t help, we’ll just sell you a new one. Which I bought, because Robin was desperate to get back to his Oblivion game.
