Look ordinary people live in Venice too... somewhere
They even have TV! (but not cars)
Leaning precariously out of one of the windows in the palace
Buses!
That's the hospital
And the church next to the hospital
That's the moon.
Canal by night
Venice by night
Church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo (John and Paul) from the bell tower. We know the name because we found it by accident. We wanted to go and visit the Rialto bridge and Robin said we should go one way and Rhiannon said we should go the other, and we went with her suggestioon, and ended up there instead...
Roof tops, starting with the Basilica
That same anonymous island, ok we looked it up: it's Isola Di San Giorgio Maggiore
The church with scaffolding is the Santa Maria della Salute
The opening of the grand canal into Venice Lagoon. THe church without scaffolding is Il Redentore
This is the canal from which you can see the bell tower from which the photo was taken
Still no idea what that is, still looks pretty though
Mountains! (really there are... look again)
Look Rhiannon was here too!
We were told to go up the tower on a clear day, but I rather like the mist
From our hotel room window.
A typical venice front door.
The grand canal, again
Rhiannon standing on the Rialto bridge, admiring the grand canal (well it was pretty)
The food in Venice was rather good
Though we didn't eat here
We're told it's more crowded in summer
From the bus, going out to Murano island
Murano is one of the great centres of glass production in the world... sadly we didn't buy the dragons, they were priced at 85 euros each
Canal in Murano, smaller quieter, warmer
and they have curvy houses...
and pavements
We had lovely weather, it was warm and sunny throughout our trip
the cemetery, taken from the bus stop having come back from Murano
